Cancer registry is an important tool in cancer control efforts. Population based cancer registry is available from ICMR, which initiated efforts since 1982. A Hospital based Cancer Registry was started to facilitate research at SCH. Details from the case history of the patient was entered into the cancer registry. Cancer registry will form the Database for research and to conduct clinical trials. The data on sex, age, site of tumor, stage of disease of the cancer patients, approximately over 500, and is being entered into the cancer registry. The data provides the valuable information for further development of the cancer control program.
